"I share everyone's concerns about the winter approaching ... with the violence showing no signs of easing up and the number (of refugees) growing," Jolie told reporters in the Turkish capital of Ankara.

According to Xinhua, accompanied by UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonia Guterres, the Oscar winning actress held meetings with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and high-ranking Turkish officials.

On Thursday, Jolie visited two Syrian refugee camps in southern Turkey.

According to official UN figures, the Syrian crisis has forced some 235,000 Syrians to flee to neighboring countries, 80,000 of them taking shelter in Turkey.
