Ulytau to promote Kazakh music to the world stage

What are the latest achievements has the band made?

  As a whole, huge efforts have been invested into creation of the project as you could have seen it during nine years. We frequently had to invest personal funds in order to promote the project but it is not about money only. It is critical to make maximum use of our potential in order to develop culture of our country.

 This month we have given concerts in Romania, Germany and Russia. In each country we were greeted with fervor. I am sure we have everything to make our band worldwide famous. When thousands of people all over the world strive to get to Ulytau concert it will mean that we have reached our goal.

 I believe that Ulytau musicians as a band performing culture of our nation meet all the cultural, ideological and spiritual requirements. I think that promotion of Kazakhstani stage to the international level is one of today's main goals of our national culture. And of course to achieve these goals is the team spirit and support of the country.

 American rock group Manowar has been on scene for almost 30 years now. What impressions did you get from the joint performances with the world heavy metal legend?

 We met Manowar early July this year in Bucharest during performance at the third musical festival B'ESTFEST. This was when Joy Di Mayo highly appraised creativity of the Kazakhstani band and suggested to take part in a three-year world tour together with his band.

 Preparing for the Moscow joint concert with Manowar band we worried about the upcoming concert as there was a specific audience - the fans of heavy metal. There were doubts on how the audience would accept our ethic rock. But the Russian audience as in Europe received us with enthusiasm.

 Following the results of the concerts in three countries we and our partners had a strong view that Ulytau is capable to bend world.

 What are your future plans?

  At present we are working on the official release of our album «Two Warriors», and the nearest plans are to sign a contract with Manowar to join their three-year world tour. It will be a great experience for us and this will be another big step ahead.

  Also, the offer of three-year tour will need extra investing, and besides, we will make a closer approach to heavy rock. The rock scene is 'pure' in the sense that unlike pop-music, everything that is happing in the scene is performed alive.

 I believe we should not stop once we have reached a goal, but continue moving ahead. At present we have done everything that depended on us that relates to marketing and management. The way our band is greeted tells about the fact that our project is very perspective. When Ulytau gives concerts all over the world it will labeled as 'made in Kazakhstan'. The many thousand audiences of Romania, Germany and Russia have seen us. Now our main goal is to bring all that was created to the world scene. We strive to promote the image of our country and let other nations learn about Kazakhstan.

 Videos only cannot make the band famous; its creativity should be perceived 'alive', for rock music is always performed alive.  After July festival in Romania our video music was among the first in Youtube and Google. We are sure that tomorrow world rock fans saying "Ulytau" will mean Kazakhstan. If we successfully promote the band it will be capable to gather overcrowded stadiums.

 I am also grateful to all who have supported us, especially Minister of Culture and Information Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed for his help in promotion of our project.

 I am convinced that we are on the right track. The concert with famous group Manowar is one of the first steps to the goal to become the band of the world level. We should export our music and develop this trend. The start has been made, and you can see the success!
