UK arrest over suspected Milan synagogue terror plot
LONDON. March 16. KAZINFORM A 40-year-old woman has been arrested in London over an investigation into an alleged plot to target a synagogue in Milan, Italy, Scotland Yard says.
The woman was held on suspicion of collecting information useful to terrorism. Police said they were liaising with Italian authorities.
A Moroccan-born man was also arrested on Thursday in northern Italy.
Reuters said Italian police alleged the man, 20, had collected information on weapons and explosives training.
He was also said to have maps showing security around Milan's main synagogue on his computer, it said.
The LaPresse news agency said the police had arrested the man in Cagliari - on the island of Sardinia - after identifying him from internet traffic.
He had lived in Italy from the age six, it said.
