U.S., Russia share experience in biomedicine with Kazakhstan

ASTANA. July 10. KAZINFORM International experts in the field of biomedicine and epidemiology from Russia and the U.S. have shared their experience on how they conduct research and publish results of the research with their colleagues from Kazakhstan in Astana.

The seminar was arranged by the Nazarbayev University and the University of Pittsburgh (the U.S.) with a purpose to improve the quality of research carried out by young Kazakhstani scientists.

"Currently the healthcare system of Kazakhstan is challenged by cardiovascular diseases, maternal and child mortality, cancer, tuberculosis, etc. The goal of the seminar is to teach our scientists how to use the new international methods of research in practice to achieve results and to publish those results," the NU representative said.

The lecture materials for the seminar were contributed by specialists in biomedicine and epidemiology from the U.S. and Russia. The seminar brought together more than 70 reps of scientific, medical and educational institutions from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Poland.
