U.S. Embassy representatives met with activists of non-governmental organizations in Shymkent
SHYMKENT. August 11. KAZINFORM /Tatyana Pylaeva/ The representatives of the Embassy of the U.S. met with the activists of the non-governmental organization united in the Civil Alliance of South Kazakhstan region.
The meeting was held by the Second Secretary of the Political Section of the U.S. Embassy to Kazakhstan Colleen Altstok. She familiarized with the activity of the non-governmental organization of South Kazakhstan region and noted high activity of the organization and its good contact with business community and regional administration. 'U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton is interested in life of women and children in different countries. It is of high importance for us. Besides, we realize the importance of development of business environment. In other words the problems you are addressing', the Secretary of State said. Besides, she liked the system of uniting different non-governmental organizations, business communities and different authoritative bodies into the Civil Alliance which coordinated their activity. 'This is the example different countries should learn from', she added.
President of the Civil Alliance Klara Alipova, in turn noted that such meetings were very important for both sides. 'We need to exchange experience. We have achieved a lot but still have many things left to accomplish', the president said. Colleen Altstok suggested the organizations of South Kazakhstan region to establish the relations with the corresponding departments and administrations of the USA and the best non-governmental organizations of the States for joint work.
