U.S. announces $17.5 mln in aid to L.America infrastructure projects
SANTO DOMINGO. October 6. KAZINFORM U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that her country will donate 17.5 million U.S. dollars to infrastructure projects in Latin America; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
Clinton said the money will go to projects set out by "Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas," a 15-country program designed to promote inclusive growth in the region, which the United States takes part in.
Speaking at the Pathways Ministerial Meeting hosted by the Dominican Republic, Clinton said as Latin America continues to grow, it is necessary to ensure the poorest people of the region are also able to benefit from the development.
She said a number of other donor nations are participating in the program that focuses on building infrastructure projects in Central America, which the U.S. deems vital to those who want better access to development opportunities; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
