Two synagogues opened in Kostanay and Ust-Kamenogorsk

ALMATY. July 7. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilyinskaya/ The freedom of belief in the country is an everyday reality, Chief Rabbi of Kazakhstan Yeshayah Elazar Cohen said it during the opening of two synagogues in Kostanay and Ust-Kamenogorsk cities; Kazinform correspondent reports.

He thinks it is a good set of circumstances that opening of synagogues took place during the III Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana, on July, 1-2. The forum delegates including the reps of International Jewish Community were convinced in the fact of freedom of belief in Kazakhstan.

 "I also think that the visit of Israeli President Shimon Peres is highly important. I see the power of our forum in the participation of political figures in it. Presidents and prime ministers have a possibility to spread the idea of tolerance and mutual respect among citizens notwithstanding their belief as well as at the interstate level", - Y. Cohen said.
