Two powerful quakes hit eastern coast of Japan's Honshu

VLADIVOSTOK. April 21. KAZINFORM Two powerful earthquakes measuring 6.0 and 6.1 hit the eastern coast of the Japanese island of Honshu on Thursday; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.

According to the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the underground tremors were registered in the Pacific Ocean at a depth of 33 kilometres. According to Russian seismologists' estimates, the epicentres of the earthquakes were situated about 180 kilometres from the Japanese coast. No information on the effects of the earthquakes is available so far.
