Two more deaths, 142 new cases confirmed in U.S. state of Texas

The latest victims were a man and a woman in El Paso County, according to the latest information from the Texas Department of State Health Services. The department on Friday also reported 142 newly confirmed cases of A/H1N1 flu in the past two days, bringing the total figure of the state to 1,812 to follow Wisconsin of the most infections in the 50 U.S. states. The 1,812 cases came from about 70 of Texas' 254 counties, most in the center of the state where schools were shut down last week, said the state health authority. However, the figure reported by the State of Texas is much higher than the 1,670 confirmed cases released by the CDC on its website on June 5.
