Two killed, 28 injured in southern Russia blasts

MOSCOW. February 19. KAZINFORM. Two people were killed and 28 others injured on Friday in a series of explosions in Russia's troubled North Caucasus republic of Ingushetia, Russian news agencies reported; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

At least three blasts rocked a derelict house in Ingushetia's largest city of Nazran on Friday morning as police were inspecting the site.

"The explosions killed one local and one police officer," Svetlana Gorbakova, a spokeswoman for the Ingush investigative committee, was quoted as saying.

Another 28, including the city's police chief Kazbek Latyrov, and Mikhail Nalgiyev, head of the city's investigative committee, were wounded, Gorbakova said. Three of the injured were in critical condition; Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.news.xinhuanet.com for full version.
