Two Iranian MPs arrive in New York

ASTANA. February 23. KAZINFORM Two Iranian Majlis (parliament) deputies arrived in New York on Tuesday afternoon to attend meeting of Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), IRNA reported. Kazinform refers to Trend News.

In IPU meeting in New York, representatives of different countries will expound on measures and activities of their countries in the field of promotion of women situation, their access to education, technology and jobs.

The two deputies from Iran, Fateme Alia and Fateme Ajorloo, will explain Iran's programs and measures for promotion of women status in the society in the field of education and occupation.
Simultaneous with the IPU meeting, the 55th meeting of women commission affiliated to the UN Economics and Social Council will kick off its work, too.

The Iranian representatives, both female parliament deputies, will also attend official inauguration ceremony of a new UN Women body.

Former Chilean president has been assigned by the United Nations Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon as assistant secretary and head of women body. Kazinform cites Trend News. See www.en.trend.az
