Two explosions hit eastern Ukraine

KIEV. January 20. KAZINFORM Two explosions rocked a town in the eastern Ukrainian region of Donetsk Thursday but there were no injuries, the Interior Ministry said. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

The first blast damaged the entrance to the office of a state-owned coal enterprise in the town of Makiivka, blowing out windows in the first five floors of the seven-storey building, the ministry said in a statement.

The second blast hit a shopping mall located in the center of the town, the statement said, without giving more details.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry said an envelope was found near the blast site with a written demand for a large sum of money and the threat of another five explosions later in the day. Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.xinhuanet.com for full version
