Turkish FM expected in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. February 8. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu is expected to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan at the invitation of his Kazakh counterpart Kanat Saudabayev on February 10-12, 2010. Kazinform has learnt it from Official Spokesperson of the Foreign Office Askar Abdrakhmanov.

"In accordance with the program of the visit the Turkish FM plans to have top-level meetings for discussing the issues of political, economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Astana and Ankara in bilateral and multilateral formats, in particular, within the UN, the OSCE, the OIC and the Council of Cooperation of the Turkic-Speaking countries", Abdrakhmanov said.

The visit will also focus on discussion of the course of preparation for the III Summit of the CICA presidents and prime ministers scheduled for June 7-9 in Istanbul.

The visit of the Turkish FM aims at realization of the provisions outlined in the Strategic Partnership Treaty between Kazakhstan and Turkey signed October 22, 2009 during N. Nazarbayev's visit to Ankara.
