Turkish city Nevşehir named its street after Nursultan Nazarbayev

ISTANBUL. April 4. KAZINFORM /Irina Dynnikova/ The city of Nevşehir located in a tourist area of Cappadocia which is famous for its underground cities and cave monasteries named one of its streets after the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The opening ceremony was held April 3, 2011.

The decision on giving N. Nazarbayev's name to one of the main streets of the city was taken at a session of the municipal maslikhat of Nevşehir.

Governor Abdurrahman Savaş and city mayor Hasan Ünver said they were quite satisfied with the dynamic development and achievements of brother country Kazakhstan led by N. Nazarbayev. A. Savaş and H. Ünver pointed out the great efforts of the Kazakh Leader in strengthening and development of the Kazakh-Turkish relations and the Turkic world. "This is the first street in Turkey named after N. Nazarbayev and it is a great honor for us", they said.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Turkey Zhansseit Tuimebayev thanked the Turkish government, deputies of Nevşehir maslikhat and the Turkish people for taking this decision in the year of celebrating the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence and the Kazakh-Turkish relationships.

Local authorities, public figures, representatives of scientific communities and businessmen and mass media were invited to the event.
