The Tunisian Football Federation confirmed the coaching change in an Instagram post after a disappointing start to the World Cup campaign.

The Tunisian Football Federation announced the termination of Sabri Lamouchi, noting their mutual agreement, and wished the former head coach success in future professional endeavors.

The new head coach, Renard, is expected to join the Tunisian squad and lead the team through the rest of the World Cup, with discussions about a longer-term agreement to follow the tournament.

The Frenchman has earned a reputation as a tournament specialist, guiding Zambia and Ivory Coast to Africa Cup of Nations titles. He also led Saudi Arabia to a memorable opening-match victory over Argentina at the 2022 World Cup and coached the French women’s national team.

Earlier, Qazinform News Agency reported that the fourth day of the FIFA World Cup delivered plenty of goals and drama, with Germany and Sweden securing emphatic victories, while Japan battled back twice to earn a valuable draw against the Netherlands.
