Troicki downs Kazakh tennis player to win Sydney title
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Viktor Troicki has returned to the world of tennis in a triumphant style on Saturday by winning his second career title in Sydney, Kazinform has learnt from Vesti.kz.
The Sydney final will probably go down in history as the first ATP final featuring two qualifiers - Troicki and Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan. Recall that Kukushkin beat defeating champion and another comeback kid - Juan Martin del Potro. Troicki needed only 64 minutes to defeat the Kazakhstani after breaking him twice in each set 6:2, 6:3. The good news is that Kukushkin will skyrocket to ATP's Top 50 on Monday after reaching the Sydney final. He is also set to play Malek Jaziri of Tunisia in the opening match of the 2015 Australian Open in Melbourne.
