Trans-Asian Parliamentary Forum kicks off in Almaty
ALMATY. May 14. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Trans-Asian Forum Eurasian Dimension of the OSCE has kicked off in Almaty today.
Representatives of large international organizations, namely, Secretary General of the OSCE Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE Joao Soares, Secretary General of the OSCE PA Spenser Oliver, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General, Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia Miroslav Yencha and diplomats of 35 countries have gathered for the event.
Kazakhstan is represented there by OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, Chairman of the Majilis Ural Mukhamedzhanov.
The OSCE PA was founded at the meeting of the heads of the parliaments of the OSCE countries in April 1991 in Madrid. The Assembly is one of the institutions of the OSCE which unites 56 countries to date.
