Trade between Kazakhstan and CU reached USD 24 bln

ASTANA. KAZINFORM "The volume of trade between Kazakhstan and the countries of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space reached USD 24 bln over the period ranging from 2009 to 2013," director of international economic integration department Ernar Bakenov told a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the Kazakh President.

Thereat, the country's exports to the CU member countries increased by 62%, exports of processed goods doubled in 2013 against 2009. The share of processed goods rose from 44% to 54% in Kazakhstan's total export. Export of confectionaries grew threefold, export of transformers increased by 15-17 times. Besides, for the period of the CU functioning production of motor vehicles increased by 24 times to reach 40,000.
