ASTANA. November 30. KAZINFORM /Valentina Yelizarova/ A top-level meeting in Astana opens unique chance for discussion of many longstanding conflicts, for solution of which there are expended a lot of efforts at different levels. OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut has said it at a briefing in Astana.
"It is favorable opportunity for the issues discussion at all levels between all Organization participants. Holding the meeting in Astana allows to focus on the problems which are common", he emphasized.
According to the OSCE Secretary General, the Afghan issue will be in the spotlight of the Summit participants in Astana. "I think Afghanistan will be one of the most important topics of discussion and statements of the heads of state and government", M.P.Brichambaut said.
During Kazakhstan's presidency the Organization continues work on regulation of the current conflicts, he noted. "Chairmanship in the OSCE is not an easy task. It is suggested that it is necessary to spend a lot of efforts, energy to continue the process of political character", the OSCE Secretary General said.
