Top Kazakhstani official refuses to comment resignation rumors

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Agriculture Minister of Kazakhstan Assylzhan Mamytbekov has refused to comment the rumors of his resignation amid the news one of his deputies was convicted of corruption.
"Why should I comment these rumors?" Minister Mamytbekov said when asked about his possible resignation. The rumors began to swirl after the official said he will step down in case one of his deputies is charged with corruption. Earlier it was reported that on October 16 former Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Muslim Umiryayev was sentenced to 10 years in prison for taking a $100,000 bribe.
