Top 5 most visited resorts in Kazakhstan
The national statistics bureau said over 3 million people visited the country’s resorts between January -September 2023 which is 344,000 more as compared to 2022, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Tourism and Sports Ministry.
For nine months of 2022, some 2,729,000 travelers visited Kazakhstani resorts.
The Almaty Mountain Cluster is the top 1 resort area for the nine months of 2023 receiving 1, 728,000 tourists followed by Mangistau resorts. Over 299,000 people visited the western region of Kazakhstan so far.
The third most visited resort area is Schuchinsk-Burabay area with 234,000 visitors.
Alakol and Balkhash resort areas also rank among the most visited resorts with 204,000 and 94,000 tourists respectively.
Internal tourism in Kazakhstan continues its growth. The country’s resorts record an increase in not only in Kazakhstani but also international tourists, Deputy Minister of Toruism Yerzhan Yerkinbayev said.
Hotels at the country’s resorts provided customers with accommodation and hospitality services worth more than 74 billion tenge in January-September 2022 against over 103 billion reported in 2023.
