Tokayev advises deputies to take into account lessons learnt from crisis

ASTANA. September 10. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The deputies should take into account the lessons learnt from the crisis and analyze the problem of transferring to the anti-cyclic fiscal policy in the course of the work over the draft legislations in the third session of the fourth convocation of the Parliament. Senate Speaker Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev has said it today opening the first plenary meeting of the Senate of the third session.

K.Tokayev reminded priority directions of the Parliament activity set by the Head of the State at the session opening on September 1.

The Speaker expressed confidence that the deputy corps will make its contribution to timely and qualitative implementation of the President's initiatives and further legislative provision of the country's sustainable development. He noted that within the framework of the Government's anti-crisis programme in the finance and economy, social, scientific and cultural spheres there were held some activities, which ensured sustainable rates of the economic development.

According to K.Tokayev, the Parliament and Government should act in concert. He paid attention to the upcoming work over a draft three-year budget.

Touching upon the issues of the current legislative activity of the House, the Speaker said that at present 19 draft legislations are under consideration.  

"The Head of the State emphasized priority of some legislation. Every bill should become a subject of special consideration", K.Tokayev emphasized.

 Noting that Kazakhstan will chair the OSCE in the upcoming year, K.Tokayev expressed confidence that the Senators will be responsible for their work, especially for cooperation with the OSCE. The Senate Speaker called the deputy corps to effectively use all opportunities in the legislative support of further political and economic development of the country.
