Timoshenko is not resigning premiership

KIEV. February 16. KAZINFORM Yulia Timoshenko is not going to resign the position of Ukraine's prime minister, parliament deputy Roman Zvarych said at a meeting with Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc on Tuesday, Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

"We have heard from the prime minister that she is not going to resign the post," he said.

He quoted her as saying that "the presidential election has nothing to do with the parliament or with the situation in the government."

Timoshenko told the faction's meeting that her bloc was not going to support the idea of changing the date of local elections, scheduled for May 30.

Earlier, Viktor Yanukovich, officially announced as the winner in Ukraine's presidential election, addressed Timoshenko with a call to step down of her own record. Timoshenko was Yanukovich's rival in the presidential election runoff on February 7.
