Tikkurila opens production plant in Kazakhstan

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Finnish manufacturer of paints, Tikkurila Oyj opened its production plant in Almaty region on Wednesday (April 15).

"The production plant produces high-quality and environmentally sustainable products. We are one of the leading companies in Europe in our segment and has been present at Kazakhstani market for over 10 years," CEO of Tikkurila Oyj Erkki Järvinen said. In his words, Kazakhstan has become the first country where the company launches such innovative project. The plant is believed to produce nearly 2 million liters of paint a year. "Kazakhstan prides on having favorable business climate and positive approach to foreign investors. That is why it has been chosen for the launch of our new plant. Its products will be exported to neighboring countries, namely Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan," Mr. Järvinen said. "We also plan to purchase raw materials here in Kazakhstan in the future." "We are very excited that such company as Tikkurila has opened its plant in Central Asia. From now on Kazakhstanis will be able to buy paints made in Kazakhstan," deputy akim (head) of Karasaiskiy district of Almaty region Maksut Dzhaparov added.
