Three lions kill guard at zoo in Uzbekistan

 Three lions attacked a keeper at a private zoo in Uzbekistan's Tashkent Region, TASS reports citing local police department.

"Today, December 17, three lions kept in a single cage at the Lion Park private zoo, located in the Parkent district of Tashkent Region, escaped into the zoo's courtyard. [...] The lions entered the yard, attacking and injuring a 44-year-old keeper born in 1980. Unfortunately, the keeper later died from his injuries," the message stated.

The press service reported no further casualties. The lions have been returned to a special cage. Interior Ministry officers are conducting on-site investigations.

Previously, it was reported that a bear was trapped and killed after a two-day stay in a northeastern Japan supermarket. The animal attacked a male employee and dined out in the store's meat section.
