Three American and Japanese scientists share 2010 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

STOCKHOLM. October 6. KAZINFORM The 2010 Nobel Prize in Chemistry on Wednesday jointly went to three scientists Richard F. Heck, Ei-ichi Negish from the U.S. and Akira Suzuki from Japan "for palladium-catalyzed cross couplings in organic synthesis," said the Royal Swedish Academy of Science; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The Nobel Prizes have been awarded annually since 1901 to those who "conferred the greatest benefit on mankind during the preceding year."
Each prize consists of a medal, a personal diploma and a cash award of 10 million Swedish kronor (1.4 million U.S. dollars); Kazinform cites Xinhua.
