Thirteen militants killed in Russia's Dagestan
MOSCOW. September 12. KAZINFORM A total of 13 militants were killed during a special operation in southern Russia's volatile republic of Dagestan on Sunday, the National Antiterrorism Committee said on Monday. Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
Ten militants were killed in the Dagestani capital of Makhachkala with another three "eliminated" in the Kizilyurt district's Komsomolskoye village.
Two police officers were as well killed in the operation, the committee said.
The security operation lasted over 19 hours and was launched after the head of the department for the fight against extremism in Russia's North Caucasus Federal District was shot dead as he drove to work in Makhachkala.
