The UK ready to negotiate and support Uzbekistan’s WTO membership

During the negotiations between Uzbekistan diplomats in London and representatives of the UK Department of Trade and Industry, a detailed discussion took place on the issues of Uzbekistan’s membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) and increasing the export of Uzbekistan products, UzA reports.

At the meeting, the British side was informed that on the sidelines of the 13th meeting of ministers of WTO member countries, which was held in Abu Dhabi on February 26-29, protocols on market access were signed with three countries – Japan, Israel, and the Dominican Republic. Negotiations with Thailand have been completed.

The British side noted the dynamic steps of Uzbekistan on the path to WTO membership and expressed its readiness for full support and negotiations in this direction.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to hold a webinar to increase Uzbek exports, with the participation of entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan and British experts.
