“The Other Bank” Film to be presented at Anapa festival
ALMATY. September 14. KAZINFORM /Zhazira Dzhanabayeva/ The 18th International Festival Kinoshock was opened yesterday in Anapa. The main part of the contest festival program will be started from "The Other Bank" Film of the joint production of Georgia and Kazakhstan directed by Georgy Ovashvili.
During eight days Anapa will be the center of the film art. The Festival was organized under the aegis of the Russian Presidential Administration and Government, Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation (IFESCCO), Russian Ministry of Culture, Administration of Kransodar Kray and Anapa city. Head of the Russian President's Administration Sergey Naryshkin headed the Organizational Committee.
11 film pictures participate in the festival contest including such as "The Backdoor" directed by Stanislav Mitin, (Russia) and "The Melody for Street Organ" directed by Kira Muratova (Ukraine). Other film pictures as "Silence" (Y. Tuichiyev, Uzbekistan), "The Border" (A. Khachatryan, Armenia), "The Other Bank" (G. Ovashvili, Georgia and Kazakhstan), "Kelin" (Y. Tursunov, Kazakhstan), "The Rainbow Maker" (N. Dzhordzhadze , Russia and Georgia), "The Songs from the Southern Seas" (M. Sarulu, Kazakhstan and Russia) and others also participate in the festival.
According to the tradition outstanding figures of culture head the jury of the festival. Writer Vladimir Makanin will head the jury board this year.
