The capital getting ready for December holidays
ASTANA. November 27. KAZINFORM December is a month of holidays in the capital. Astana is going to celebrate the Day of the First President, Independence Day and the long-awaited New Year. Today the whole city is preparing for the holidays; the works on decoration of the capital are in progress 24 hour a day, Kazinform refers to astana.kz. So, Almaty district has already decorated its streets with 23 Christmas trees.
Maksat Samatuly, chief specialist of the technical department of Almaty district akim's office, Astana city:
"In our district works on installation of a skating rink have been started on Akbulak river, providing for installation of public catering facilities, skate renting, and installation of hard landscaping and ice towns. Along with that there will be works on ice surfacing in 9 school yards, and ice surfacing in "Zheruyik" park".
And in Esil district they are placing 14 Christmas trees, including the main Christmas tree of the country on the square in front of Ak Orda. Its height is 25 meters. In addition to Christmas trees, lanterns, arcs and brackets are being decorated in the city.
Berik Alhmetzhanov, deputy akim of Esil district of Astana city for sanitary and improvement issues:
"Trees along Turan avenue, Orynbor street and near Astana-Bayterek monument are being decorated. Besides, works on illumination on banners, brackets and New-Year festive arcs are being conducted".
And Saryarka district will place 16 Christmas trees this year. According to residents, decoration of the capital gives the feeling of a holiday and magic.
Svetlana Eremina, resident of Astana city:
"You know, it elates, I like it very much, the city becomes more beautiful; it's very good here in winter, and in autumn everything is too grey. It's great".
Kirill Sedach, resident of Astana city:
"The city becomes so beautiful; you can see it's preparing to New Year, Christmas trees are placed, and there's New Year's cheer. I see a Christmas tree, I think that I need to buy presents for my nephew, my mother and friends".
In the daytime Astana is decorated with bright colorful posters, and at night with shimmering photodiode billboards. On holidays the city will present festive mood and unforgettable impressions.
