Tengizchevroil to boost oil production
Kazakhstan plans to produce 96.2 million tons of crude oil, primarily driven by the Tengiz oilfield expansion project, in 2025, Kazinform News Agency reports.
In 2024, Kazakhstan’s crude oil output stood at 87.7 million tons, falling slightly short of the plan due to repair works at major oilfields – Tengiz and Kashagan as well as temporary curbs under international agreements, said the country’s Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev.
According to him, the country is set to increase its oil production in the first half of 2025.
It’s planned to produce 96.2 million tons of crude oil in 2025, primarily driven by the Tengiz oilfield expansion project, set to be operational in the first half of the year. Works are ongoing at Karachaganak and the Caspian shelf (Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar), said the Kazakh minister.
The country also plans to boost its crude oil exports to up to 70.5 million tons in 2025 from 68.6 million tons in 2024.
Kazakhstan mostly exports its crude oil through CPC, Atyrau-Samara, Atasu-Alashankou pipelines as well as via Aktau port, said Satkaliyev.
Earlier it was reported that Kazakhstan’s Kashagan oilfield had produced 115mln tons of crude oil since its inception.
