Tatarstan plans to build oil refinery in Kazakhstan

About 700 business people from that fraternal country arrived in Astana to partake in Kazakhstan-Tatarstan business forum, according to "Express K". As earlier reported, the Days of Tatarstan started yesterday in Astana. The Tatar delegation will attend the business forum, visit production facilities and meet Tatar Diaspora reps. Near "Khan Shatyr" shopping and entertainment center an exhibition of industrial and agricultural potential of Tatarstan will take place. Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan is estimated at USD 1 billion, said the Mayor of Astana Imangali Tasmaganbetov. In turn, the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov noted that Kazakhstan has created favorable conditions for foreign investors. However, Tatarstan reps were ready to share their ideas. Thus, "Tatneft" oil company produces 32 million tons of oil per year, 14 million of which is processed on the company's refineries. Last year the petrochemical complex, which level of processing of heavy sour crude oil reached 97%, was built in the country. "Practically, we move away from oil residue," clarified R.Zaripov. In addition Tatarstan deputy PM stressed that the republic is ready to participate in the construction of a refinery in Kazakhstan. According to Zaripov, Tatarstan intends to cooperate with Kazakhstan in the petrochemical industry. Deputy Prime Minister said that 60% of Tatarstan's GDP accounted for by chemistry and petrochemistry, and 25% - by engineering.
