"The targets set out in the Eurasian Economic Community Treaty are achievable. The treaty is primarily aimed at promoting economic growth in our countries and improving the well-being of peoples. The union has very good prospects," said Yergali Bulegenov, Belta reports.

The diplomat said that despite the remaining exceptions and restrictions in some areas and mutual trade, the EEU aims to become an equal union of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan. "The treaty was prepared in a short period of time. Experts from the three countries had to work hard as each of the countries of the customs troika tried to defend their national interests," he said.

"Nevertheless, some consensus has been reached, and everything that is written in the treaty determines the equality of the parties in accordance with their interests. It will take some time for the document to take full effect," the Ambassador said, referring to the remaining exceptions and restrictions regarding the common oil and gas markets, and also transport and financial markets.
