Taraz closes another bazaar due to archaeological excavations
TARAZ. January 25. KAZINFORM - "Shahriston" bazaar to be closed due to archaeological excavations in the town of Taraz, the city administration reports.
It bears to remind that in 2012 in Taraz, the central bazaar "Tolebay" was closed due to archaeological excavations. The excavations have been carried out in accordance with ''Cultural Heritage" program. Traders moved into new markets such as "Central", "Aul bereke", "Atakent Taraz" etc.
It cannot but mentioned that 56 owners of sales outlets were paid compensation from the budget. Last year KZT 477 million were allocated for compensation payment in connection with the markets' closure.
During the construction of "Shahriston" market, ancient bath houses were discovered (XII-XIV centuries). Subsequently, the museum exhibit has become a great scientific value. Experts consider that the market area is location on the territory of ancient city.
