Tajikistan, EBRD eye expanding cooperation

Tajikistan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development discussed the issues of expanding cooperation, Kazinform News Agency learned from Khovar.

The issues were on agenda of the meeting between the Tajik Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Sherali Kabir, and Head of the EBRD Representative Office in Tajikistan Holger Wiefel.

The sides discussed expansion of cooperation with the EBRD in allocation of grants for Tajikistan’s industrial sector, including for the construction of new industrial enterprises, exploration of mineral deposits, development of textile, car-making, and pharmaceutical indutsries.

The parties also focused on implementation of new technologies, decontamination of radioactive waste disposal sites, transition to a “green” economy and other priority areas.

Earlier, its was reported that Tajikistan increased volume of foreign capital inflow in 2024.
