Suspected killer of 7 in southwestern Michigan city frees woman hostage
CHICAGO. July 8. KAZINFORM Police confirmed that one of two hostages held by a suspected killer of seven in Grand Rapids, a southwest Michigan city, was released Thursday night, the Grand Rapids Press reported. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
A 53-year-old woman, who collected sports drink and cigarettes from police for the suspect, had been released unharmed, according to the police.
Dozens of police officers descended on a city neighborhood at about 8 p.m. local time (2400 GMT) after seven people, including two children, were fatally shot in related shootings at two homes in the city Thursday afternoon.
