SUPPORT NATIONAL TEAM: Kazakh sportsmen deserve top places at Asian Games-2011
ALMATY. January 26. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilinskaya/ Five days left till the Asian Games 2011 to start. 45 sportsmen will represent Sports Society 'Dinamo' at the Games in 7 sports events. They expect to win 25-27 medals, head of Sport Department of the Sports Society 'Dimano' Nikolai Knyazev said it to a Kazinform correspondent.
'Dinamo' representatives mostly make up the freestyle national team therefore we expect victories mainly in mogul, in particular, success of women's team. I would like to note that we have our young star in this event - winner of the second phase of the Freestyle World Cup Championship Yuliya Galysheva. She brought tremendous success to the National team of Kazakhstan in mogul in the international arena. She defeated Olympic Champion Hannah Kearney in the finals. The Kazakh national team topped mogul skiers from Japan at that World Cup Championship. Thus, the Japanese team is a leader on the continent in this sports event', N. Knyazev said.
In whole, the head of the department thinks that members of our freestyle team Dmitry Reyherd, Dmitry Barmashov, Dariya Rybalova, Yuliya Radionova and Yuliya Galysheva have trained well and are ready for the tournament. Last year they won 5 phases of the Europe Cup where they won several silver and bronze medals. Therefore we have the task of entering the top three in the Asian Games and it is an objective task.
N. Knyazev also believes that sports orienteer Alexander Babenko - another star from 'Dinamo' - is able to top the rest at the tournament and win 'gold'. Their results are very important for the national team. They will have to exert every effort to make our team competitive enough to be atop the rankings', he added.
Instructor of sport facilities of the International Ski Jump Complex Ivan Karkachev believes that after K-125 and K-95 ski jumps were put into operation our sportsmen received a good training base. Excellent conditions for training and tournaments were created, in this regard, the sportsmen should succeed at the Asian Games. However, the success of our team depends on the roster of our opponent teams, especially Japanese.
According to I. Karkachev, one of disadvantages for us is that only two sportsmen can compete and enter the rankings in every sport.
In whole, the instructor thinks that our sportsmen still have a lot of work ahead to do to be fully competitive in the world arenas and our national team needs facilities and training ski jumps for children K-20, K-40, K-60. "Otherwise, there won't be any relevance in big ski jumps in few years. The good news is that the training ski jumps will be built soon", I.Karkachev concluded.
