Summer School for English language teachers opened in Kazakhstan

ALMATY. July 29. KAZINFORM /Serik Koibagarov/ Opening of Hornby Summer School for English language teachers  has taken place today in Almaty; Kazinform correspondent reports.

English teachers from different regions of Kazakhstan including those from Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Russia, Great Britain, Latvia and Ukraine - 30 people in total will attend retraining courses.

According to Deputy Director of the British Council in Kazakhstan Ulzhan Kanzhigalina the purpose of the summer school is to transfer knowledge and skills in using of tools for estimation and testing to the participants, give them a possibility to develop training programs including Teacher Knowledge Testing as the standard international examination on extension courses as well as to create the network of specialists all over the Kazakhstan using testing and estimation tools for teachers' retraining.

She noted that Hornby Fund jointly with the British Council hold international summer courses for English teachers all over the world. This year Kazakhstan receives foreign teachers for the second time.
