LONDON. January 19. KAZINFORM At least six civilians have been killed in a suicide attack at the international airport in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, officials say; Kazinform refers to BBC.
The attack happened outside the perimeter of the airport, where thousands of foreign troops are based.
Earlier this month a series of blasts killed at least 12 people in the city.
Those attacks shattered the relative peace seen in Kandahar in recent months. The province is considered to be the spiritual home of the Taliban.
Analysts said the bombs highlighted the fragile security situation in Kandahar, which is also the birthplace of Afghan President Hamid Karzai; Kazinform cites BBC.
