Su-27 crew may still be alive - Kazakh Defense Ministry

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan says that pilots of the Su-27 military plane that crashed in Almaty region on Tuesday evening may still be alive.

"Bodies of the pilots and black box haven't been found. So, there is hope they are still alive," Major General Marat Uashpayev told a press conference in Astana. As reported earlier, Su-27 military aircraft disappeared from radars at 20:42 p.m. on September 23, 2014 with two pilots onboard Yerlan Nauanov and Denis Gorbunov. Major General Uashpayev also confirmed the airplane was capitally repaired in Belarus in 2009.
