Strong earthquake hits Java, Indonesia

ASTANA. September 2. KAZINFORM An earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Java, Indonesia at 0801 GMT Wednesday, according to a bulletin released by the Hong Kong Observatory; Kazinform refers to China View.
The epicenter was initially determined to be at 8.2 degrees south latitude and 107.3 degrees east longitude, about 230 km south-southeast of Jakarta; Kazinform cites China View.
