Strengthening of Kazakh-Cuban cooperation discussed in Majilis
ASTANA. October 12. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Chairman of Social and Cultural Development Committee of the Majilis of the Kazakhstan Parliament Dinara Nurketayeva and Ambassador of Cuba to Kazakhstan Abelardo Fabio Hernandez Ferrer have met in Astana today.
They discussed the issues of developing and strengthening of Kazakh-Cuban cooperation. "Kazakhstan is interested in expanding trade-economic ties with Cuba and cooperation in the fields of science, medicine, tourism and sport", D. Nurketayev said.
She told about Kazakhstan's measures on improving quality of medical services for population. In accordance with the 2008 President's Address "New Kazakhstan in a New World" the Government implements the program "100 Schools, 100 Hospitals". Last year Kazakhstan adopted the Health Code.
In 2006 Kazakh delegation visited Cuba and got familiarized with the country's healthcare system. Earlier in 2003 the two states signed agreement on cooperation in this sphere.
