Storm alert issued for Astana and 12 regions of Kazakhstan

Fog is expected in the city of Astana as well as Karaganda, Kostanay, Akmola and Pavlodar regions in the morning and at night. The high fire threat is in effect locally.

Dust storms are forecast to sweep through Atyrau, and Mangistau regions. The high fire threat is in effect across the greater part of the region.

High wind gusting 15-20 m/s is reported to roll through West Kazakhstan and North Kazakhstan. The fire threat remains high across the regions.

The extremely high fire threat is in place in Ulytau, East Kazakhstan, Abai, and Aktobe regions.

On October 5 weather without precipitation was expected throughout most of Kazakhstan, the country’s south, and southeast were forecast to brace for thundershowers.
