Storm alert in effect in 11 regions of Kazakhstan

Astana is forecast to wake up to foggy streets.

Heavy rain and snow are expected to batter Almaty region’s mountainous districts and Turkistan region. Fog and ice-slick are in store for the south and mountainous districts of the region.

Fog is predicted to blanket West Kazakhstan, Kyzylorda, Zhetysu, East Kazakhstan, Abai, Mangistau, Turkistan, North Kazakhstan, Akmola and Kostanay regions.

Ice-slick is reported to form on the roads in Abai, East Kazakhstan and Almaty regions.
