State higher education grants increased to 35,425 in 2010 - Zhumagulov

ASTANA. January 19. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The number of state grants for training degree professionals increased to 35,425 in 2010.
"The government order rose to 35,425 grants, akims (governors) of oblasts allocated 368 grants, rectors of universities - 2,700 grants. The leading universities opened international centers which will train specialists for industrial-innovative development", Minister of Education and Science Bakytzhan Zhumagulov said at the enlarged session of the board on Wednesday.
The Minister noted that the Nazarbayev University became a great breakthrough in the sphere of higher education. Besides, B.Zhumagulov named Kazakhstan's accession to the Bologna process as a significant achievement.
