Starting 2014 Kazakhstan grants SES countries the right to participate in public procurement

ASTANA. January 11. KAZINFORM From January 1, 2014 Kazakhstan grants its Single Economic Space partners the right to participate in public procurement, Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Timur Zhaksylykov said Friday during a video conference to discuss the draft agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union.

According to Zhaksylykov, domestic suppliers will also be able to participate in state and municipal procurement in the countries of the Single Economic Space together with local suppliers.

According to him, Russia and Belarus used this regime in 2012 - 2013.

The Vice Minister added that the public procurement market in the Single Economic Space in 2012 amounted to about 200 billion U.S. dollars, in Kazakhstan it reached 7.6 billion U.S. dollars for the same period, information on the Kazakh PM's official website reads.

In addition, Zhaksylykov said that during the period of functioning of the Customs Union the annual average growth rate of bilateral trade amounted to 15.8%, import and export increased during this period by 91-92 %.

In January-October 2013 the mutual trade between the Single Economic Space countries was about 59.9 billion U.S. dollars.
