St. Petersburg is covered with wildfires smog from Moscow

ST. PETERSBURG. August 9. KAZINFORM /Yelena Mygkova/ Smog from wildfires and peat bogs from Moscow has spread to St. Petersburg and covered the city. Almost all the territory of the city is covered with smog.

It should be noted that the smog did not affect the working regime of the Pulkovo airport but in case of the situation got worse it might happen.

As is known, due to smog from wildfires and peat bogs the work of two airports in Moscow was changed. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency the visibility on August 8 on the runways of Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports was 300-350 meters at the rate of 1000 meters. Many aircrafts flying to Moscow airports are sent to alternate aerodromes and St. Petersburg as well due to Moscow bad weather conditions.

St. Petersburg also beats temperature records, the temperature record was beat for the second time in the city on Saturday. It reached 37.1 degrees Centigrade.

The previous temperature record was set just two weeks ago and it was 35,3 degrees Centegrade.
