Sportsmen to compete for 163 sets of medals at VII Asian Winter Games 2011
ASTANA. January 19. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ "Sportsmen will compete for 163 sets of medals at the VII Asian Winter Games in Almaty and Astana", President of "Executive Direction of the Organization Committee of the VII Asian Winter Games 2011" JSC Andrey Kotlov said at the enlarged meeting of the board of the Kazakh Ministry of Tourism and Sport Tuesday.
"The program of the VII Asian Games 2011 in Almaty and Astana provides competitions in 11 sports including 70 disciplines and awarding 163 sets of medals", he said.
A.Kotlov noted that draft guides on each sport including information on terms, place, participation conditions and competitions on each discipline have been developed. The guides will be sent together with official invitations to participate in the Games.
"Preliminary application forms for participation in the Games defining maximum number of participating sportsmen was developed as well and will be sent to the National Olympic Committees of Asian countries", A.Kotlov stressed.
The President of the Executive Direction noted that the schedule of test competitions on sports provided by the main program was developed and approved.
