Sportsman veteran from Kostanay receives Guinness Book of Records' Certificate
ASTANA . November 18. KAZINFORM - Sportsman veteran of the city of Kostanay Alexander Chebaniy has set a world record during the weight-lifting championship which took place in Arkhangelsk (Russia).
The competition was attended by more than 300 athletes from Russia, Europe, Asia and Africa. Kazakhstan was represented by the two sport veterans among them was AlexanderChebaniy, the leading expert of sports and physical training society ''Dynamo" of Kostanai region IAD, who competed in the age group of 70-74 years in the weight category of 65 kilograms. As a result Chebaniy has won two gold medals.
The athlete participated in the establishment of a unique collective achievement called "The 300 Spartans" for the Guinness Book of Records. Within half an hour 300 athletes simultaneously were lifting the 16-kilograms kettlebells. The record will be included in the new edition of the Guinness Book of Records.
Athletic Commissioner of the Guinness World Records Jack Brokbenk thanked Alexander Chebaniy for his active participation in the competition and awarded him with medal and certificate.
