Dear compatriots!
I congratulate you on the Day of Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
From the ancient times our people have considered health as the main wealth of a human being. Following this covenant the Kazakh Government makes every effort to strengthen spiritual and physical health of our citizens.
A healthy nation only can be regarded to as competitive one. In this regard, promotion of mass sport is one of the strategic dimensions of the policy of our state. In my January Address to the Nation I set a task to attract 30% of the population of our country to physical culture and sports.
Sport is a sphere promoting the image of the country. During the years of independence our sportsmen have won many big international competitions. The flag of Kazakhstan was proudly flown in honor of these victories. The Asian Winter Games will be held in our country next year. This fact proves that the national sport reached the world level.
Happy Day of Sport! I wish you good health and welfare! May the achievements and victories of the Kazakh sportsmen multiply!
